"Karma"

A Course in Miracles speaks of "the last judgement" as the last time that you place judgement and attack on yourself. It is the point where you give up self judgement. This means, of course, that there is no God or spiritual hierarchy out there condemning you to a hell or a heaven. You are responsible for such judgements yourself. It's all a creation of your own mind. It's all you, dearie! That is what free will means.

As we see it, you "spawn" lifetimes (which, of course, means A LOT). However, in misperceiving the earth as "real", as opposed to "experience" or "mirror", neither of which is absolute, you place a lot of judgements on a lot of those many lifetimes. Then you experience Karma as punishment because you believe you should be punished. From that perspective you may either try to resist the punishment or take it on like a good martyr or masochist.

In the scheme of things it would appear that you experience over the many lifetimes all aspects of any situation. You will have lifetimes of "victim" and "perpetrator" and everything in between. But, as Jesus demonstrated with the crucifixion, this experience can lead past suffering to enlightenment and resurrection. The suffering is in the judgement and the resistance. Two sayings of Jesus come to mind: "Judge not that ye be not judged" and "But I say unto you that ye resist not evil".
